Terms of Service

  1. Health and Safety
    In order that we maintain appropriate standards of health and safety, you are responsible for disclosing any prior medical or physical conditions on this form and also to the teacher before the class starts. If you are in any doubt as to the suitability of the course please consult your doctor. You expressly acknowledge that engagement in dance under the care and supervision of Academy of Dance in the course of tuition or as a matter of free form dance in social dance engagement, is a physical activity of medium to high aerobic demand AND that engagement in dance may occasion falls, sprains or twisted ligaments, respiratory or cardiovascular stress (in persons with respiratory or cardiovascular disabilities). The student/attendee (or parent/guardian) covenants with Academy of Dance that the student/attendee has sought all appropriate medical advice prior to the acceptance of this invitation to ensure the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) is in good physical condition fully able to undertake the aerobic demands of dance at the date hereof AND FURTHER the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) accepts and assumes ALL RESPONSIBILITY for any loss, damage, injury or adverse consequence suffered by the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) as a result of engaging in dance AND INDEMNIFIES Academy Of Dance in respect of any claim by or through the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) in the event of injury to or demise of the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) as a consequence of engaging in dance. The student/attendee (or parent/guardian) acknowledges that some physical contact may be necessary by the course instructor.
  2. Liability
    Academy Of Dance does not accept liability for personal injury or the death of any student/attendee unless directly caused by the proven negligence of the company or its staff.
  3. Exclusions/Withdrawals and Code Of Conduct
    If a/an student/attendee is persistently disruptive, infectious disease or with any symptoms of one (such as high temperature, cough, runny nose, fever or rash), or if we feel their attendance affects the good atmosphere of the course, we may decide to exclude them, make-up class will be arranged for missed classes. If a child is persistently disruptive so as to affect the class being able to proceed in harmony the parents will be contacted and asked to assist by speaking with their child to maintain an appropriate level of conduct in the class. If this does not improve the situation the child will be excluded from the class temporarily without further notice, no make up class will be offered. Should the child agree to come back and comply with our standards of behaviour then he/she will be able to rejoin on a trial basis until it is established that the child has understood and can join the group without causing harm to others or disrupting the lesson.
  4. Term & Public Holiday
    Academy Of Dance is closed on SOME public holidays & dates as specified in the term calendar. Please review the calendar.
  5. Class Fees
    Class fees are based on the number of sessions during the term and excludes any public holiday. Current students have priority for re-enrolment in our dance classes. We will open up the place to other students if we do not receive your payment before the first week of the term. So please settle the payments as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Academy Of Dance only accept payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Please write cheque payable to “Danceworks Limited” and the full name of the student/attendee at the back of the cheque. For bank transfer, please ensure you pass the bank advise to the front desk staff or by email only, not accepted through WhatsApp or any other means, once the payment is made. Class fees are non-refundable nor transferable. We have the right to withhold a student from enjoying our classes if payment is not settled on time.
  6. Refund and Class Fees Transfer To Another Student(s) Policy
    Class fees are non-refundable. We regret that fees cannot be transferred to another student(s). Class fees can be credited for a later use when supported by a medical doctor certificate.
  7. Open Class
    Open class will be scheduled on the last session of each term. Parents/ guardians are welcome to go inside and watch the class during the scheduled period. Each student/attendee may only bring 2 guests to the open class.
  8. Absences & Make-Up Classes
    Make-up classes may be arranged within the current term. No make-up classes will be provided during the two weeks before examinations and annual performance. No make-up class can be arranged if the student/attendee missed an examination or show performance. No make up classes can be carried into the following term.
  9. Bad Weather Policy
    In the interest of the student/attendee’s safety, Twinkle Dance Company reserves the right to cancel classes when a venue is deemed dangerous due to inclement weather.

    Rainstorm/ Typhoon Warning Signals Kids Classes Adult Classes
    Amber Rainstorm / Typhoon No. 1 or 3 School operates as usual. School operates as usual.
    Red Rainstorm When Red Rainstorm issued:

    1. on/after 7:30am, all classes from 9:00am – 2:30pm will be cancelled.
    2. on/after 12:30pm, all classes from 2:30pm – 7:00pm will be cancelled.
    3. during class, the class continue. All classes afterward will be cancelled.

    **No refund/credit/make up when classes are cancelled due to bad weather.

    Classes will continue as normal.
    **Students may choose to cancel the class, no late cancel penalty when Red Rainstorm is in force.
    Black Rainstorm / Typhoon No. 8 above When Black Rainstorm/Typhoon No. 8 or above issued:

    1. on/after 7:30am, all classes from 9:00am – 2:30pm will be cancelled.
    2. on/after 12:30pm, all classes from 2:30pm – 7:00pm will be cancelled.
    3. during class, the class continue. All classes afterward will be cancelled.

    **No refund/credit/make up when classes are cancelled due to bad weather.

    When Black Rainstorm/Typhoon No. 8 or above issued:

    1. on/after 7:30am, all classes from 9:00am to 12:00pm will be cancelled.
    2. on/after 10:00am, all classes from 12:00pm to 6:00pm will be cancelled.
    3. on/after 4:00pm, all classes from 6:00pm to 9:00pm will be cancelled.
    4. during class, the class continue. All classes afterward will be cancelled.

    **Students may choose to cancel the class, no late cancel penalty applies.

    *Refer to our website for alert on classes update during bad weather.
  10. Uniform
    All students/attendees are required to wear uniform in accordance with Academy of Dance policy. No undergarments are to be worn while wearing jazz or ballet uniform, studio jackets can be bought to keep warm as well as leg warmers. Black sock only are to be worn with jazz shoes.
  11. Photography
    Academy of Dance reserves the right to use photographs/video taken in-class for marketing and promotional purposes. For parents/guardian, photos and videos may only be taken with the permission from Academy of Dance and parents/guardian may ONLY take photographs/videos focusing only on their own child and not on the other children in the class.
  12. Disclaimer
    The terms and conditions set out are subject to change without prior written notice from Academy Of Dance. It is the student/attendee (or parent/guardian) responsibility to check on the terms & conditions of Academy Of Dance from time to time. We retain the right to final decisions and interpretation in all matters and disputes in relation to the registration and programs. We shall not be responsible or liable for any claims or liability resulting from the registration, classes or programs suffered or incurred.
